As part of our effort to support an infrastructure
of collaboration between researchers, lawyers and advocates, we
believe in the importance for CRP to conduct conferences and trainings.
Many of our conferences are envisioned to foster debate and have
drawn experts from several distinct areas, commissioned for further

Dropouts in the South: Confronting the Graduation Rate Crisis
May 19, 2005. Atlanta, GA
The Civil Rights Project at Harvard University (CRP) will host a conference in Atlanta on Thursday, May 19,2005 entitled: “Dropouts in the South: Confronting the Graduation Rate Crisis.” The conference will take place in the Auditorium at the Cosby Academic Center at Spelman College. It is being co-sponsored by 12 organizations, and is being supported by a generous grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
Racial Equity in Transportation: Establishing Priorities for Research & Policy

On January 13, The Civil Rights Project at Harvard University (CRP) and the Brookings Institution’s Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy co-sponsored a conference on transportation equity. At the January roundtable we presented newly commissioned research and analysis in three key areas: Metropolitan Planning Processes and Outcomes, Sprawl and Minority Suburbanization, and Core Metro Transit Issues. The 50 roundtable participants included transportation planners and advocates, transportation researchers, representatives from major civil rights organizations, and relevant others.
